Welcome concerned parent or other individual that has found something on my site offensive to your religious or moral sensibilities. First let me give you my sincere apologies that you or your child has been exposed to images or ideas on my site that you feel are inappropriate or offensive. But if you have the time please let me educate you of the nature of the internet.

The internet is just like the real world, only with every door wide open. The Internet gives you and your family free access to the great works of art, music, literature, science and entertainment and some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet from all over the world. But there are also parts of the Internet you may not ever want to know about, let alone visit, and where you certainly don’t want your kids finding. There are scammers, con-men, hate groups, pedophiles and worse on the Internet, just like in real life. The Internet is an international unregulated method for freely exchanging information good bad or indifferent. So what can you do to protect yourself and you family from the stuff you don’t want to see?

First if you are a parent, know what your kids are doing on the Internet. Put your computer in an open area where everyone can see what is going on. Surf the internet with your children and let them know what’s good and what’s bad. Get some software on your computer to help block the kind of content you might stumble on to. Know what is going on with your kids on the Internet because there are a lot bigger dangers than what images or ideas your kids might stumble onto. There are websites (generally known as Blogs) that for free will let your kids write about what is going on with their lives. This can be a fun way for your kids to express themselves and keep in touch with friends and family. These sites will also let your kids upload pictures of them in any manner of dress, lie about how old they are and upload pictures of someone else. They also let your child put any form of contact information they want for anyone to find. Know what is going on with your kids on the Internet.

Now if you are an individual that has found something on my site offensive to your religious or moral sensibilities again I am sorry that this has happened. But you must know that while my site talks about many controversial and perhaps even disturbing ideas and has images you may wish you could wipe from your mind my site is not the worse thing out there. And let’s face it you are an adult; I didn’t trick or force you into coming here. You came here looking for something didn’t you? I will give you the same advice about the content control software as I gave the parents, install it and tell it what you don’t want to see, simple enough. But of course these programs are not perfect something might slip through what then? Hey, maybe the internet just isn’t for you. You can always just cut the cord and not get online. Just don’t bother me about my little corner of the Internet, OK?
